The serene sunset view from a nakamal on the lagoon near where I live.  The stillness is in contrast to the atmosphere in town where political events have caused businesses and schools to close early. But as the sun sets for the day, despite the days events stillness and calm still prevail in this beautiful country.

I didn't wander far for this twilight shot - just out my backdoor.   The light at this time of the day is so captivating.

For some reason these shadows on my floor became my photo for today. Why they resonate with today's prompts I am not sure but there was something about the light and the lines which drew them to me today.

A gorgeous little sign of Vanuatu - one orange gecko! These little guys are everywhere and happily amuse themselves catching bugs for you. First night in my house I thought there must be a noisy bird who stays awake all night talking outside my window! But no, it is the little geckos - the loud clicking call they make is definitely way out of proportion to their size.

Fall (or Autumn as I call it where I come from) is absolutely one of my most favourite times of the year and I love the wonderful colours and light in the gallery right now!  It is definitely not fall where I am now though and actually its not a season that exists here in Vanuatu. As much as I love the warmth, I will miss the vibrancy of the fall colours. So I thought, even though I am not in fall, I would continue in the tradition of fall and pick up on the beautiful reds in the gallery.  A hibiscus from just outside my door provided the inspiration and this was my favourite shot. No matter the season, beautiful colour and light surround us.

A gorgeous gift from a friend of mine - a journal cover from the Phillipines - made from a recycled rice bag I think Perfect for today's prompt!

I was walking home after work wondering what to take a photo of ... and this thought entered my head - look up, always look up.  So I did, and what I saw was a really pretty cloud formation in the evening dusk.   After arriving home and going outside to think about how to compose my shot (and trying to avoid disturbing a huge tropical spider sitting in the middle of her huge web quite close to me!!), the starkness of the barb wire fence against the lightness of the clouds seemed to convey a sense of the dark side ...

A singular tropical bloom ...

Maybe not very typical, but this was definitely my field of dreams for today.  At play, happiness, outside - an afternoon spent in this field of dreams had all those things for me today.

Eeerie morning shadows ...

There is a lovely, if not somewhat sad, story about how the coconut got its face.  But the face represents the amazing gifts which the coconut is able to give with every single part of its life cycle and of its form used to give sustenance in some way.  Truly a miracle of nature!
